Formally, I like the depth of field and the nice detail in the foreground.  I like the photo because it is and is NOT empty.  It is empty in the sense that on first glance, someone can say.  'They are just trees in the fog.'  However, on closer inspection each of the trees take on their own character.  The central tree in particular seems twisted and stands apart from the others.  The photograph provides for transport to a different place and a different way of thinking.  Cheers.
